When I am called to duty, God whenever flames may rage,

Give me the strength to save some life whatever be its age.

Help me to embrace a little child before it's too late,

Or some older person from the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout,

And quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling and give the best in me,

To guard my neighbor and protect his property.

And if according to Your Will I have to lose my life, 

Please bless with Your Protecting Hand my children and my wife.

Our thoughts are prayers are with the family of Houston Firefighter Marcello Garcia III from fire station 23 who died in the line of duty on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

“Old 7’s”, Home of the Houston Fire Museum, Winner of a 2024 Good Brick Award!
This annual award competition from Preservation Houston recognizes outstanding contributions to the preservation, restoration, and enhancement of Houston’s architectural and cultural heritage. The Museum was among ten winners to receive this prestigious award. The Museum’s Trustees would like to thank architect Clayton Fry - Repractice Architecture, Project Manager Bob Brooks – BMP Group, and Contractor Tellepsen Builders for their dedication and expertise on this project. None of this work would be possible without the partnership of our generous donors, including our top gift of $1,000,000 from Camden Property Trust.

The Children's Play Room will be open to the public on Saturdays. Children's Parties will be held in the adjoining private Party Room. Private rental of the entire museum for Children's Parties is available only on Sundays. Email bookings@houstonfiremuseum.org for more info.​​​​​​​​

The Houston Fire Museum has reopened its doors, and we warmly welcome you to visit!

We recently completed a $5.7M building preservation project. The Museum’s home, “Old 7’s,” a station built in 1899, has been closed for the past four years.

Come see firsthand how it has been restored to its original beauty with added modern conveniences.

Exhibits are limited to highlight the masonry, woodwork, and window restorations of this historic gem.

Admission is free throughout 2024. Your donations are appreciated as they help us continue our mission.

There is no parking facility at the Fire Museum. There is limited metered street parking available on Milam. A self pay parking lot is located at 2401-2599 Travis Street.
